A client reached out to me requesting a replacement center console latch for their 2003 Ford Ranger XLT. They told me that the factory OEM latch had just snapped, so they were unable to properly secure the center console for when they would rotate it back, causing the contents of the center console to spill all behind the seats. I originally found a file online that someone else had designed. I printed that model, but unfortunately, the dimensions and design were not quite correct, so it didn’t fix my client’s problem. So I took the broken latch pieces, reverse-engineered it, and designed my own version of the latch, paying close attention to every dimension present on the OEM latch. The model I designed worked perfectly for my client, and they were able to use and secure their center console as it was intended to. This was produced in ASA.
