My coworker wanted to surprise his wife, who enjoys painting, with custom paintbrush holders and custom palettes to be able to mix paints. His wife was currently using mason jars to hold her paint brushes and paper plates to mix her paints. He had seen some of my previous projects and believed I would be able to design and produce what he was looking for. This project resulted in my biggest designs by far. It was a learning journey for sure. After a couple of self-inflicted mistakes, and a bit of time, I was able to deliver the final products to this client. Both the paintbrush holders and the palettes have embedded magnets, allowing them to snap together, perfectly aligned. The center, usable portion of the palettes themselves were covered in epoxy resin to allow for easy cleaning of the paints. Each one of the black paintbrush holders took almost 23 hours each to print, and required more than one spool of filament each. Both designs were printed in PLA.
